How does the MyBITS Trip Planner work?
You create a trip pool from BITS Pilani Goa to a nearby airport or railway junction (Dabolim, Madgaon, Vasco, etc.), set your travel window, and other students matching that window join the pool. Fares split equally at drop-off, so a ₹1,200 cab becomes ₹300 each if four go together.
Is it safe to travel with strangers from the pool?
Every pool member is a verified BITS Goa student (email-checked at sign-in) and their profile is visible to fellow pool members before the trip. Pools also support peer validation so someone can only join after being confirmed — reducing the risk of no-shows and unknowns.
Which stations and airports does the Trip Planner support?
For BITS Pilani Goa, that's Dabolim International Airport (GOI), Manohar International Airport (GOX), Madgaon Junction, Vasco da Gama Junction, and Karmali Station. Long-distance sharing to Mumbai or Bangalore terminals is on the roadmap.
Can I create a trip pool with students from other BITS campuses?
No — trip pools are per-campus, matching the campus-isolated design of the rest of MyBITS. A Pilani-to-Delhi trip pool would live on the Pilani workspace, separate from Goa's Dabolim pools.
Do I pay MyBITS to use the Trip Planner?
No. The Trip Planner is free — it just matches BITS students heading the same direction. You settle the fare with the cab or auto driver at the end of the ride; MyBITS never touches money.
