About MyBITS at Hyderabad Campus

The workspace

MyBITS Hyderabad is the Hyderabad campus workspace of MyBITS, the student-built unified campus operating system for BITS Pilani students. The Hyderabad rollout is in progress — hyderabad.mybitsapp.com is being seeded with campus-specific data before the sign-in gate opens broadly. Students on the Hyderabad campus can sign up now and will be admitted in batches as their cohort's data comes online.

Academics

The academic layer for MyBITS Hyderabad ports the toolkit that runs on Goa. That is: a clash-free 6-day × 11-hour timetable grid; a course catalog with prerequisites, credit hours, and prescribed textbooks; midsem and comprehensive exam schedules with sortable columns and multi-axis filters; a faculty directory with per-instructor profiles; and the academic calendar surfacing category-coded events. Every data point is pulled from the official BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus sources.

Life on campus

Life-on-campus features roll out in parallel. Daily mess menus for every mess block on the Hyderabad campus, the hostel directory covering Shankar, Vyas, Vishwakarma, and the other residential zones, the verified zero-commission peer marketplace, per-campus forums split by Academics / Placements / Hostel / Clubs / Lost & Found / General, and the Trip Planner splitting cab and auto fares to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Secunderabad Junction, Hyderabad Deccan, and Charlapally stations. Hyderabad is fully isolated from Goa and Pilani — data never crosses.

When does MyBITS Hyderabad go live?
The Hyderabad workspace rollout is underway. BITS Pilani Hyderabad students can sign up at hyderabad.mybitsapp.com now and will be admitted in batches as their cohort's data (timetables, mess menus, hostel maps) is seeded and validated. Following a soft-launch model to keep things stable.
Will MyBITS Hyderabad support the same features as MyBITS Goa?
Yes. The Hyderabad workspace ports the same feature set as the live Goa workspace: timetables, courses, exams, faculty, mess menus, hostels, marketplace, forums, and Trip Planner. Each feature turns on once its Hyderabad-specific data is imported.
Is MyBITS Hyderabad data isolated from Goa and Pilani?
Yes. The database layer scopes every query to the signed-in user's campus. Hyderabad users never see Goa or Pilani listings, forum posts, or mess menus, and vice versa. Cross-campus data leakage is treated as a Tier-0 critical bug and asserted against in the test suite.
Which hostels will MyBITS Hyderabad cover?
The hostel directory on MyBITS Hyderabad will cover every residential zone on campus — Shankar, Vyas, Vishwakarma, and the rest. Each hostel gets an occupancy dashboard, a floor-by-floor room map, and a roster searchable by name, ID, or room.
