Can I post anonymously on MyBITS forums?
Yes — every post supports pseudonymous mode so peers can't see your real identity or campus ID. Moderators retain the ability to trace posts if the community reports abuse. The design is 'pseudonymous but accountable'.
What forum categories does MyBITS support?
Academics (course feedback, elective advice), Placements (interview experiences, prep resources), Hostel (life, allocation, complaints), Clubs (recruitment, events), Lost & Found, and General. Categories are per-campus so BITS Goa students don't see Pilani chatter.
Are the forums fully isolated per campus?
Yes. The Goa forum is invisible to Pilani or Hyderabad users and vice versa. Every read query is scoped to the signed-in user's campus at the ORM layer — the same isolation guarantee that governs mess menus and marketplace listings.
Can suspended users read the MyBITS forum?
No. Forum access is restricted to ACTIVE users. Pending, suspended, or rejected accounts are read-restricted so they can't observe discussions they might otherwise disrupt. Alumni are limited to publicly-visible surfaces.
How is forum moderation handled?
Community reports flow into a moderation queue. Verified violations lead to post removal, a warning, or a temporary/permanent forum ban depending on severity. Moderators are drawn from the MyBITS core team plus student council-nominated members.
